For a Safer Neighborhood
The Lower Montclair Security Association is a volunteer-run cooperative that organizes and contracts for patrol services to improve the safety of homes and people in the lower Montclair area.
Why a Security-focused Organization?
Seemingly peaceful and quiet most of the time, there is criminal activity in our lovely neighborhood that can go unnoticed by many until crime strikes close to home - a neighbor, a friend, or your own family.
Most crimes tend to occur based on the opportunity to do so, such as wealth/goods, distracted potential victims, and a low risk of capture. We have all the risk factors for opportunistic crime.
This necessitates additional resources beyond the protection of the Oakland Police Department (OPD) in order to keep crime at bay.
